About the Project:
"LIV" was a science fiction comedy that delved into deep questions about belonging, diversity, and the essence of community. The narrative unfolded on a distant planet in another solar system, where the inhabitants had exhausted their resources and were forced to seek a new home. Their target was Earth, but their understanding of Earth's inhabitants was so skewed that they were unsure whether to imitate humans, mushrooms, or giant squids. As the story progressed, the rigid definitions of species and community began to blur, sparking deeper reflections on what community truly means. The performance was designed for students in grades 4-6 and was available for booking by municipalities or schools via Kultimera.
BK's Contribution:
BK Sannerud brought a unique touch to "LIV" with their innovative music and sound design. They blended elements of medieval classical music with whimsical sci-fi tropes, creating a rich and immersive soundscape that enhanced the narrative. A highlight of BK's work on this project was a 4-voice madrigal composed in the style of John Dowland, demonstrating their versatility and creativity as a composer.
