About the Project:

"Blodmåne - 97" was a chilling performance that delved into the ambivalence of transformation, exploring themes of sex, violence, and suppressed desires. In the dead of night, four teenagers gather in a playground to perform a ritual with one goal in mind - to never grow up. However, the ritual goes awry, and they each begin to undergo a transformation. As the night unfolds, secrets are unearthed, shame is confronted, and hidden desires are brought to light. The play poses several questions: Who orchestrated this ritual, and why were these individuals chosen? What poses a greater threat - external dangers or the internal pressures that lie in the grotesqueness of puberty? What are the consequences of relinquishing control and embracing the unknown?

BK's Work:

In this project, BK Sannerud drew inspiration from the trends of the 90s, not only in terms of music but also the aesthetic of VHS tapes. He used this aesthetic to color and contextualize his sound design and music, creating an eerie and uncanny atmosphere. BK sampled snippets of 90s pop music using an old toy Casio keyboard, further enhancing the unsettling ambiance. To mimic the sounds of the old, creepy playground where the play is set, he presented the sound and music in a 3D spatial audio setup using ambisonics. This innovative approach to sound design contributed to the overall immersive and haunting experience of "Blodmåne - 97".
